Intentions
- The intention is for this handbook to be public in the future - so potential hires can see it and want to work with us
- Currently this is one big spaces page - we may break it out into it's own handbook with separate spaces - the format is not really important right now, the content is
- There are concepts mentioned here that are mentioned in other Spaces pages - we will link off to different pages rather than repeating things in multiple places
- We can build this out into our own framework for running a business - and sell courses and templates to other businesses to help them grow
Summary
To summarise what our founder Craig said:
- We strongly recommend you aim to work incredibly hard between 9am and 5pm, avoid distractions during work (Eg Facebook and Instagram), so that you can have your evenings and weekends free from work.
- Everyone is different, find the right mix for you.
- We are more interested in the quality and quantity of outcomes you achieve than how much time you log.
With that said, here are some key factors about how we approach work at XEN:
Culture
- We are a 100% remote company.
- We are A players who work hard during the work day and have the rest of our time free from work.
- We have each other's backs - we are supportive.
- We are not a very social company - as a result of being remote, and the fact that we are mostly introverts.
- That being said, socialising is important for mental health, team morale and you are more likely to enjoy your job if you like the people you work with.
- We encourage you to share your interests and personality.
- We attempt to do virtual socials when we all feel like it - we'll usually play a game and have a chat.
- We sometimes read a book as a collective and then discuss it. It's usually a book related to personal development or business effectiveness.
